An information provided by the US government helped identify and arrest the three foreigners who smuggled over 27 kilos of cocaine through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), released yesterday.
A statement from the US embassy has commended the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and members of the NAIA Inter Agency Drug Interdiction Task Force for the arrest of the three suspects.
The US embassy declared that this is another example of a successful counter-narcotics and law enforcement coordination between the Philippines and US.
Chinese Chan Kawai and Pau Homanevan and Russian Kirdyushkin Yuri were arrested by operatives of the PDEA and Bureau of Customs at the NAIA Terminal 3 on Oct. 5.
They brought in the cocaine valued at P140 million from Brazil via Dubai.
