Another Abu Sayyaf bandit surrendered to government troops in Sumisip, Basilan on Thursday.
Murajin Salahudin, alias Mimie, whose group is led by Furuji Indaman
and Radzmil Janatul, turned over his rifle to the 64th Infantry
Battalion in Barangay Tumahubog at around 3:30 p.m.
According to Maj. Filemon Tan Jr., spokesman for the Western Mindanao Command, Salahudin would undergo debriefing. He also confirmed that the pursuit operations for Abu Sayyaf bandits in Basilan are still ongoing.
Col. Cirilo Donato, commander of Joint Task Force Basilan, said
around 100 bandits are believed to be hiding in the jungles of
Basilan.
