Additional suspects of the Davao City Night Market blast who are in custody of authorities have implicated another 13 individuals as part of the terrorist plot, the City Prosecutor’s Office said.
Prosecutor Nestor Ledesma, said the prosecution side is now reconciling the number of personalities in the list of possible suspects to build a case for the tragic explosion last Sept. 2.
According to Ledesma, the three latest suspects executed an extra-judicial confession last Monday and named 13 individuals.
To date, there have been more than 20 names implicated in the case, with around nine initial suspects.
To date, authorities have apprehended seven individuals from two separate operations.
The prosecutors are still reconciling the individuals implicated and those they have in custody.
“So in consonance with due process, we have to conduct another preliminary investigation of these additional 13 respondents,” Ledesma said.
Ledesma said that the panel of prosecutors have sent out the subpoenas to determine the participation of the latest 13 respondents to the case.
Fifteen died and 69 were wounded in the nighttime blast. Among the dead were a 12-year-old boy and an unborn child and her pregnant mother.
