Two alleged drug syndicate members were arrested at a warehouse in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Complex for illegal drugs possession and importation, the Bureau of Customs disclosed Monday, November 14.

Ronald Puerto Revera, 26, from Bagumbong, Caloocan City and Bryan Levantico Cortes, also 26, from Mabalacat, Pampanga, were immediately arrested for possession and importation of approximately 1.2 kilograms of shabu.

The shabu, with an estimated street value of P8 million, was packed and sewn into the inner panel of a bag the suspects claimed at the Federal Express (FedEx) Cargo Warehouse.

The bag, sent by a certain Kinzolani Guylain from Congo and which arrived at NAIA on October 21, was initially declared to contain wigs and shirts.

The suspects are now in the custody of BOC’s Enforcement and Security Service and will be turned over to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

They face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972 and RA 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

The seized shabu was turned over to PDEA.
