KERWIN WANTS WITNESS PROTECTION, PLANS TO ‘TELL ALL’

Suspected drug lord Roland “Kerwin” Espinosa Jr. has expressed intention to be placed under the government’s Witness Protection Program (WPP) and he is willing to “tell all” about the illegal drug trade.

This was disclosed by Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio Vingno Jr. as the younger Espinosa is expected to arrive on Thursday (Nov. 17) in Manila from Abu Dhabi.

“His request is to be placed under the Witness Protection Program and he will tell all,” Vingno told DZBB in an interview.

Espinosa, son of slain Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. made this commitment during his meeting with Vingno last week in the Al Wathba jail.

The ambassador, however, noted that Espinosa has yet to give his sworn statement to Philippines authorities since his affidavit is needed so that he would be admitted to the WPP.

The younger Espinosa was arrested in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 17 after an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) based in the Middle East country informed authorities about his presence there.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will fetch him at the airport upon his return to the country and bring him to the Custodial Center in Camp Crame.

In executing his affidavit, Vingno said the information that would be revealed by Espinosa could be the same to that of his late father.
