MMDA Enforcer Held in Drug Sting

A traffic enforcer of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) was arrested in a drug sting in Quezon City yesterday.

Dexter Lucas, 43, an alleged supplier of illegal drugs to drivers at jeepney terminals in Quezon City and Caloocan, was collared at the corner of EDSA and Muñoz in Barangay Veterans at 4 a.m., Quezon City Police District director Senior Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said.

According to Eleazar, anti-illegal drug operatives managed to buy a sachet of shabu worth P500 from Lucas.

Lucas’ alleged drug supplier, Jose Cua, 66, was arrested in Barangay Balingasa during a follow-up operation. Cua allegedly yielded another P500 worth of shabu.

Lucas and Cua are being held at the Masambong police station on drug charges.

MMDA general manager Thomas Orbos said Lucas would be dismissed from the service.

Orbos said Lucas has been on floating status since July after he was involved in an alleged extortion case.
