A Malaysian man, who was believed to be a member of the bandit group Abu Sayyaf, was arrested by the police in a raid in Quezon City over the weekend.
Amin Aklam was apprehended by members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at a house along Cotabato street in Barangay Culiat at around 4 a.m. on Saturday.
According to CIDG director Chief Superintendent Roel Obusan, Aklam was arrested on the strength of a warrant issued by the Jolo, Sulu Regional Trial Court Branch 3 for kidnapping and frustrated murder charges.
Obusan said Aklam is on the list of wanted criminals issued by the Departments of National Defense and Interior and Local Government.
