An anime video showing President Rodrigo Duterte has gone viral in the social media after it was posted on Sunday.
The video entitled "El Presidente" got over 285,000 views just six hours after being posted on the Bisayaball Facebook page.
Apart from the views it earned, it also garnered 19,218 shares, over 8,000 reactions, and 1,410 comments and threads as of 5:36 p.m. Sunday.
The 1 minute and 28 second video animation made by Davao Nikkei Jin Anime Club in cooperation with Bisayaball Community, with the background music titled "Silhouette" by KANA-BOOM, shows Duterte's simplicity and rise as a leader.
The first part of the video shows the president driving his motorbike guided by an Eagle along his path.
An animation of his house at Doña Luisa Subdivision was also shown, as well as the scene where he was interviewed by the media while he was sitting in a monobloc chair, wearing only ordinary clothes and slippers.
The video also shows Duterte as a student, promoting patriotism in a classroom.
It also featured Duterte's supporters rising their fists during the campaign period.
The President's first State of the Nation Address (SONA) before the Congress where he was seated with Senator Koko Pimentel and Congressman Pantaleon Alvarez were also included.
There are also anime versions of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and Philippine National Police chief Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa. And of course, if there are allies, there are also enemies. The monsters!
The rest of the scene shows Duterte moving on and raging forward in his journey despite the existence of different political detractors, terrorists, and the "yellow" party.
The video ends by showing unity and friendship between President Duterte and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who previously said that a lot of Japanese people admire the Filipino President.
Majority of the viewers have positive comments for the video and its creator. Others express their wish that it will indeed become an anime series and not just a short clip.
Others said it would be good if the background is a Filipino song. Some are requesting for subtitles because the video is in Japanese.
