Though the Malacañang already declared the success of police operations against illegal drugs, the concern about the rising cases of vigilante killings in the country is still a big concern.
Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar affirmed that they expect the Philippine National Police (PNP) to conduct a swift probe on suspected summery executions of drug suspects.
According to Andanar, even though the police operations are successful, those deaths involving gang wars is still a cause for concern.
"The PNP has said all summary killings or death resulting from gang wars, these are under investigation," he added.
The PNP recently reported that death toll of drug suspects has reached almost 3,000 since the Duterte administration.
Of the body count from July to September 10, 1,466 drug personalities were killed in police operations against illegal drug trade.
More than 700,000 drug dependents have also surrendered to authorities since Duterte came to power.
Despite the human rights concern raised by groups here and abroad, the President earlier warned that "plenty will be killed" in the government's campaign against the narcotics trade. The President also has given authorization to law enforcers to kill suspects who resist arrest and threaten their lives.
