Amidst, the cancellation of the bilateral meeting of the two powerful presidents, Barack Obama (USA) and Rodrigo Duterte (Philippines). But, there will be an off chance that they will have to rub elbow to elbows.
On Wednesday night, there will be an ASEAN gala dinner hosted by the chairman's summit, Laos Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith. Duterte will be seated in the middle between United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and Barack Obama.
“Presidents Duterte and Obama will be seated next to each other, which expectedly, will focus all cameras on them to deliver to the world the encounter of the two," the Presidential Communications Officer said in a statement.
Duterte and Obama were supposed to have a meeting on Tuesday, but it was called off due to the vulgar words Duterte thrown into Obama.
As we all know, Duterte war on drugs has been questioned due to extrajudicial killings and violations of human rights.
