Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo does not discount the possibility that she could be removed from office after the secret burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
“Kasi may pakiramdam ng lahat ng klaseng, parang lahat ng paraan na kayang gawin, gagawin,” Robredo, who holds a Cabinet rank as housing chair, said on Monday.
She addressed circulating false text message about a “recount of ballots without from four to five provinces will start end of November and finish by December” that would later unseat her as vice president.
“You can bet early next year, we have a new VP. From a trusted source,” the text message read.
Robredo, who denounced the burial, expressed alarm over the turn of events and called on the public to be vigilant.
“Parang ngayon, anything is possible eh. Hindi natin inaasahan noong Biyernes pero nangyari. So siguro aral din ito sa ating lahat na huwag magiging complacent,” she told reporters in an interview.
She directly blamed the camp of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., whom she defeated in the vice presidential race in the May elections.
“Siyempre iyong hinala natin iyong kalaban natin sa kaso. Baka may attempt na parang bilugin iyong isip ng tao, parang ina-ano iyong mindset,” she noted.
Marcos filed an election protest against Robredo, seeking a recount of votes in 39,221 clustered precincts in 25 provinces and five highly urbanized cities.
Robredo said the Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Election Tribunal or PET, has yet to issue an order on the recount of the ballots, but hoped PET members would resolve the election case based on evidence.

She also brushed aside viral rumors on social media and websites about her “pregnancy” with Quezon City representative Bolet Banal.
At the 30th anniversary celebration of a group of farmers in Quezon City on Monday, Robredo said it does not have factual basis.
“Ako kasi ayoko na patulan eh. Ayoko na patulan parang insulto naman yata iyon,” she said.
The Office of the Vice President issued a statement after the event that they learned about the “well-funded and well-orchestrated attacks to malign the Vice President.”
“The demolition campaign has begun,” Robredo’s spokesperson Georgina Hernandez said. “And the next logistical questions is; who is behind it?” she asked.
She blamed the “websites that masquerade as news sources” for the rumors, which are then “spread by troll armies.”
Troll armies are referred as those who propaganda to sway public opinion on social media sites. They give news events and current issues the spin to advance their own agendas.
