BREAKING NEWS: Marcos Ililibing na sa LNMB Ngayong Byernes 12nn

Former president Ferdinand Marcos is set to be buried at noon Friday, November 18 at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

National Capital Region police director Oscar Albayalde told CNN Philippines that Marcos’ remains are already in the cemetery, with a 21-gun salute already conferred earlier for Marcos as part of military honors.

Only Marcos family members are allowed to witness the burial rites, with ABS-CBN News reporting that former first lady and Ilocos Norte representative Imelda Marcos is already at the LNMB.

PNP Director General Ronald dela Rosa said maximum tolerance will be implemented by authorities as anti-Marcos protesters are expected to picket the burial.

Dela Rosa said military tradition dictates that soldiers should be buried at noon.

Earlier, Philippine Army personnel at the gate of the heroes’ cemetery have reportedly said there will be a “rehearsal” today, but did not disclose for what or whom it was for.

The move comes as the Supreme Court on November 8 dismissed all petitions against the burial.

While petitioners can file a motion for reconsideration, no appeal has been filed yet.
