In order to remove any taint of corruption, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) chief is offering a cash reward to anyone who could prove that illegal activities are happening in the agency.
In a statement, TESDA Director General Guiling Mamondiong said offering of cash reward was made in line with President Duterte’s campaign to rid the government agencies of corruption.
“We don’t want to destroy the reputation of any TESDA official or employee. Our objective here is simply to prove to the public that there is no corruption in our agency,” Mamondiong said.
The TESDA chief has not yet revealed how much they are willing to give to any informant but he encouraged those who have proof of any irregularity in the agency to come out and approach them.
The reward offer forms part of the “transparency” and “moral renewal” objectives under the current TESDA administration’s 17-point Reform and Development Agenda for a more effective and efficient public service.
“Corruption hinders economic growth and in fighting corrupt practices, we would be able to help President Duterte purge the government of crooks,” said Mamondiong.
Mamondiong warned TESDA officials not to engage themselves in corruption and other illegal activities under his tenure for they would surely face appropriate sanction which may include ouster from office.
So far, the TESDA has not yet received any information on alleged corruption in the agency.
