What high-profile inmate Jaybee Sebastian has to say about the illegal drug trade in the Bilibid will be explosive, according to his lawyer Eduardo Arriba.
Sebastian nearly died from a stabbing incident inside the New Bilibid Prison but now that he's recovering, Arriba said his client is willing tell everything to President Rodrigo Duterte.
"Ang impormasyon na ibibigay niya kay Presidente ay napakaimportante, napaka-materyal, and in so far as evidence is concerned, napaka-conclusive," he said.
[Translation: The information he'll share with the President is very important, comprehensive, and in so far as evidence is concerned, very conclusive.]
Arriba earlier said that Sebastian will be in danger with his testimony because it would cause ire to previous and present members of the administration.
Sebastian is currently recovering at the Medical Center of Muntinlupa after suffering puncture wounds in his chest. Arriba said he is now in stable condition.
Sebastian's famiy said they don't mind paying for the hospital bill if the government refuses to.
Meanwhile, NBP Public Information Head Sonny Del Rosario said the inmates involved in the recent riot will be isolated from the other inmates in Bilibid 14.
Del Rosario said they will stay in a separate cell in the same building for "safety and security reasons."
Bureau of Corrections Officer-in-Charge Rolando Asuncion said inmates in Bilbid 14 have already been tested for drugs.
The Crime Investigation and Detection Group said they have gathered all the information needed to prove the stabbing incident.
