Mayor Roberto ”Bing” Arcinue said President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to lead the ceremonial send-off for the 17 Vietnamese fishermen at Philippine Port Authority on November 2, Wednesday.
The Vietnamese have been staying in Sual Bay, Arcinue told the Manila Bulletin.
It can be recalled that Vietnamese fishermen were caught poaching off Sta. Catalina town in Ilocos Sur province after a prosecutor dismissed the charges against them.
All were on board three fishing boats on September 8 and were arrested by the Philippine Navy about 28 nautical miles off Sta. Catalina.
