Drug Suspect with Grenade Killed in QC Police Raid

A drug suspect armed with a grenade was killed in a raid of a drug den in Quezon City on Sunday afternoon.

 
A man who went by the name of “Henry,” a target included on the watchlist of the Quezon City Police (QCPD), attempted to pull the safety pin of the hand grenade he was holding before policemen shot and killed him in a drug den at the corner of Don Carlos and Don Primitivo Streets, in the Don Antonio Subdivision in Barangay Holy Spirit at around 2 p.m.

Cops from the QCPD Station 6 in Batasan conducted the raid after getting reports of an ongoing pot session inside the drug den maintained by a certain Marites Romero.

Henry reportedly noticed responding cops approaching the drug den prompting him to get his hand grenade. The QCPD head, Senior Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar said police officers had to shoot him “to avoid more casualties.”

Nine other suspects, including Romero, were arrested by the policemen. A still undetermined amount of shabu and other drug paraphernalia were also seized by the authorities from the drug den.
