Cebu City authorities were alerted of a bomb threat, after a package suspected to be an explosive was abandoned outside a school.
According to The Freeman’s report, Councilor Dave Tumulak confirmed the bomb scare and showed the members of the media the package. Other reports said the package was found outside the Concord Technical Institute along Cabreros street.

Reports said the bomb scare caused heavy traffic along the vicinity. However, after an examination by the SWAT, the bomb scare was allayed as the package believed to be an explosive was determined to contain only sand, gravel and three umbrella nails.
Tumulak appealed to perpetrators to stop spreading bomb threats to avoid causing panic and inconvenience to the public and the government.
Several bomb threats circulated in various areas, mostly schools, following the Davao City bombing last Sept. 2. Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa has called on the public to stop spreading bomb threats. But he advised the public to be vigilant amid bomb threats.
