A women from Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental just celebrated her 119th birthday last Sunday, making her probably the world's oldest living person.
Francisca Susano of Barangay Oringao was born on Sept. 11, 1897.
She is older by about two years than Emma Morano of Italy, who is currently considered by the Guiness World Records as the oldest living person. Morano's birth date is Nov. 29, 1899.
Guinness officials, however, haven't yet verified Susano's birth records.
Last Sunday, Susano, with her family and friends, marked Grandparents' Day and her birthday at Zaycoland Resort in this city.
According to an interview, she got married at 14 and had 14 children, eight of whom are still alive.
Susano and 74 other centenarians in Negros Occidental were honored by the provincial government in November last year. They each received a cash incentive of P100,000 (about US $2,097). The First Centenarian Act gives centenarians a one-time cash incentive of P100,000.
Under the ordinance, beneficiaries must be a resident of Negros Occidental for at least three years.
