Escandor, who served as sports consultant for Duterte when the latter was still mayor of Davao City, said there’s no conflict with whoever has been tapped by the President to help sports.
“We will all be complementing to the agenda of the President. We know for a fact that he is against drugs and sports is one vehicle to combat illegal drugs,” said Escandor.
Last July, Duterte appointed William “Butch” Ramirez as chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission, a position that Ramirez also held under the administration of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Escandor will serve on a consultative capacity. He is also known in the Davao business sector as owner of the Davao Allied Security and Investigation Agency, the Royal Mandaya Hotel and Matina Enclaves.
