The city hall of Davao City stated that Mayor Sara Duterte has never authorized any person to raise money, nor was she involved in any fundraising activity for victims of Typhoon “Ferdie” in Batanes.
In an advisory, Jefry Tupas, the city information officer, said “it has come to the attention of Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte that a person introducing himself as Nathan Garanzo has been using her name to solicit money from certain people, including some politicians.”

He said there was no truth either to Garanzo’s claim that a certain Retchie B. Banduriao acts as Duterte’s finance team head.
Sara Duterte has not authorized Nathan Garanzo to solicit any money nor she is involved in any fund raising activity in Batanes.
In one of the text messages forwarded to the city hall, Garanzo told one prospective “donor” that the contribution should be deposited to Banduriao’s account at Bank of the Philippine Islands.
