Sen. Leila de Lima has been ousted by The Senate as chairperson of the Committee on Justice and Human Rights
Voting on Senator Manny Pacquiao's motion to declare the chairmanship and membership of the Committee of Justice and Human Rights vacant, 16 senators said "yes," 4 voted against and 2 abstained.

Replacing De Lima as the chair of the committee is Sen. Richard Gordon.
De Lima made headlines last week after she presented a surprise witness, Edgar Matobato, who claimed to have worked as a former hitman of long-time Davao City Mayor and now President Rodrigo Duterte.
Duterte's spokesmen and allies have all belied Matobato's statements.
Pacquiao made the move ahead of Matobato's second appearance before De Lima's committee set this Thursday.
